Supplier Day: a new format of business negotiations

Lesdrevmash 2024 hosted Supplier Day, organised by EXPOCENTRE within the show’s conference programme.

This format of business negotiations between Russian manufacturers of wood, sawn timber, boards, plywood, furniture and biofuel products and foreign buyers was organised for the first time. Suppliers had an opportunity to present their companies and products to customers and agree on cooperation with heads of purchasing departments of importing companies, as well as with representatives of construction companies, manufacturers of furniture and finishing materials, retail chains and their wholesale suppliers from more than 25 countries. All in a day’s time.

In addition to business negotiations, the Supplier Day programme included the Panel on Procurement in the Russian Timber Industry, organised by TEK-Torg and EXPOCENTRE.

Yury Domoratsky, Area Head at the Supplier and Government Relations Directorate of the Procurement Management Centre of Inter RAO, spoke about the company’s supplier relations system. Ivan Golub, Deputy Head at the New Commodity Market Development Department at SPIMEX, spoke about timber trading at the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange. Evgeny Mozhaev, Deputy General Director at TEK-Torg, spoke about the requirements of suppliers and purchasers on today’s electronic procurement platforms.

During the presentations, the panel participants learnt about the specifics of participation in procurement and the needs of the timber industry in goods, works and services for 2024.
